The Lunch Box

The sign above the door at 1701 W. 9th St. in Kansas City's West Bottoms says "9th Street Liquor & Deli".  I know the place as The Lunch Box.  Think of a breakfast and lunch counter inside a liquor store.  They hand-pound their monster tenderloin nicely seasoned with Panko breadcrumbs.  They grind their beef daily and thinly slice their KC Strip Steak for their savory Cheesesteak sandwich.  It's a bustling place.  Lots of call in orders.  Menu is on the chalkboards above the counter.  Get yourself a drink and settle into one of the handful of tables.

They'll bring your order out to you.  I've had a little bit of everything on the menu but I always order the tots.  Their Cheesesteak sandwich is really good.  They make tasty homemade chili.  The Cuban Missile is great.  Everyone loves their burgers and Taco Tuesday specials...Check 'em out!  You can find their menu offerings at www.lunchboxkc.com.
